Lucas Oil Off Road Racing

It is only two weeks away!   We are busy, busy, busy getting ready for opening weekend for the 2012 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series!  We will race one truck this season in the Pro Lite Unlimited division.  We have really beefed the truck up to prevent mechanical failures and give Austin a great shot at the off road racing championship this season.   Rounds 1 and 2 are at Firebird international Raceway on March 31st and April 1st, so we really hope you can make it out there!

We have one more pair of tickets to give away on Facebook for Round 2 on Sunday April 2, and that contest launches as soon as we hit 800 fans on our Facebook page, so be sure to swing by there, like our page, and register to win!   Click here to go to our Facebook page!

A big thank you to Kimbrell Electric, our season sponsor, who faithfully provides the support for our racing team.  Kimbrell Electric, our family owned commercial electrical company that serves the electrical contractor needs of Phoenix metro area businesses.

Final 2011 LOORS Results for Kimbrell Racing and 2012 Strategy

Monday, January 30, 2012 by Austin Kimbrell
2012

Final results are in for the 2011 Lucas Off Road Racing Series.  We are extremely proud of Austin in his first year of racing in the Super Lite category, as he finished in fourth place in total points, despite all of the truck troubles in the beginning of the season that took him out of races.  In the Pro Lite Unlimited, Austin finished 11th and again, we are very pleased given the mechanical difficulties we experienced early on.   As you know, Austin ended the season with a strong first place win in the final championship round in the Super Lite.

We are very excited about the 2012 season, and are focused on coming out strong.  We believe in Austin, he is an aggressive driver with a winner's attitude with another year of experience under his belt.  To solve our mechanical problems and give Austin his best shot at the podium, we are swapping out from a 4 cylinder to an 8 cylinder V8 automatic transmission to enable us to finish more races right out in front!

We sure hope you can make it to one of the off road courses this season and join us for a race or two!   You can find the 2012 schedule on our Kimbrell Racing website at: www.kimbrellracing.com/schedule.   If you have not joined us on Facebook, we invite you to do so by clicking here.  As always, thanks for all you do to support Kimbrell Racing, you are appreciated more than you know!

A GREAT RACE WEEKEND!!
Congratulations to Austin - first place in the final round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in the Super Lite, and fifth place in the ProLite.  Then, on Sunday for the Challenge Cup Off Road Racing Championship races, Austin had another strong third place podium finish in the Super Lite.  The Pro Lite was definitely off road madness... Austin flipped TWICE in the Pro Lite but was able to get started both times and get back in the race, and then fought his way back into the race.  WOW!  Great driving on both days.  Congratulations to Austin Kimbrell as the 2011 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series concludes with very strong performances from Austin.

Be sure to watch our website and Facebook for uploaded race photos and videos as they come in.  Thanks for your GREAT support for this season, we could not have done it without you!

It's coming down to the wire with just one more round in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Championship Series.  Every turn, every second, every point counts.   Austin is in great position in the SuperLite, as he finished second in Las Vegas, and still prime contender for Rookie of the Year.

Our focus is on December now, with Round 15 on December 10th at Firebird Raceway, followed by the Challenge Cup on December 11th at Firebird.  Phoenix is our home turf, and we have the best fans in the world.  There is no better place we'd rather compete. We are going to need every fan to come out and cheer Austin on!  We painted the bleachers RED with Kimbrell Racing t-shirts at the race in Surprise, and we hope you will come out and be a part of a great group of folks supporting Austin - every fan out there makes a difference.

We will post ongoing race prep updates as we move toward the final 2011 races, so be sure to stay tuned.  Of course, if you haven't done so already, text AUSTIN to 49798 for live race updates via text message.  Be sure to post your racing thoughts on our FACEBOOK page - click here.    WE WANT TO GET TO 500 RACE FANS ON FACEBOOK BEFORE DECEMBER, SO HELP US OUT!

Rounds 13 and 14 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series This Weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway!

Dirt Flinging driving!

It's race week and we are gearing up!  John went to Las Vegas to pick up the new engine, and our top off road trucks will be ready to chew up some serious dirt this weekend. Our team is working hard to get the trucks in top shape to give Austin the edge that he needs to get it done this weekend.

We are coming down to the wire for the 2011 series.  There is the race this weekend in Las Vegas, then Round 15 on December 10 at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix, and then the Challenge Cup on December 11th also at Firebird.    Austin still looks good in points standings for the LOORS Ultra Lite (top ten) Off Road Racing Championship, and is a top contender for Rookie of the Year in this class.  He is hanging tough in the Pro Lite Unlimited as well, just outside of top ten, but we expect to change that this weekend!

If you haven't done so already, be sure to text Austin to 49798 to subscribe to live race updates via text message! (your standard text rates apply).    We also are asking folks on Kimbrell Racing's Facebook page to post good luck messages to Austin.  The most creative message will be posted on our blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc., so be sure you post!  Here is the link for Facebook:  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kimbrell-Racing/108444685887624

We will be posting new race photos and 4 x 4 truck video from the races on the website, so be sure to check it out:  http://www.kimbrellracing.com/#!__photos

As always, thanks to our family, great fans, sponsors, and race team!

Checking the truck

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series continues next weekend with Rounds 13 and 14 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one of the more challenging off road courses in Las Vegas, NV.  Rounds 13 and 14 are very critical in the Pro Lite Unlimited and Super Lite division races as far as point standings are concerned as we move toward the off road racing championship.

In regards to our off road equipment, we intend to dot every "I" and cross every "T" for our off road racing vehicles to be in tip top shape for these races.   Our team is the best, and they work hard to give us the winning edge.  We will be there early for practice so that Austin can get comfortable with the track and we can make sure all of our off road gear is ready to give us the power we need to win.

We sure hope you can make it to the races, your support is always so encouraging!  If you do, please be sure to stop by our pits and say hello!  And also, don't forget to stop by and thank our sponsors at their booths, because they make it all possible.  The Speed Network will be providing television coverage, and you can check out the times it will be aired here:  http://www.lucasoiloffroad.com/cal.htm

Be sure to join us on Facebook if you haven't already, we will be posting updates, photos, etc. as we continue to prep and of course from the race.  Click here for the Facebook link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kimbrell-Racing/108444685887624.   Also be sure to check out our website, where we will post video and new pics as well, and of course the schedule for the remainder of the season.  Mark your calendar for when we come back to Phoenix for Round 15th on December 10th at Firebird Raceway, and then the 2011 Lucas Oil Challenge Cup on the 11th, also at Firebird Raceway.  For more scheduling info and links to the off road courses, click here for the Kimbrell Racing website: http://www.kimbrellracing.com/.

The Las Vegas Race is Almost Here

Speedworld Race

It's hard to believe that we are getting so close November 5th and 6th Rounds 13 and 14 in Las Vegas.  The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will be held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one of the premier off road courses in the country!

After a short vacation, our crew has worked long and hard to make sure nothing gets in our way, not to mention the entire Kimbrell family, who work tirelessly to support me.  A special thanks to my dad, John Kimbrell, and my mom, Sue Kimbrell who just make it all happen so that I can get out there and race!  We are confident that we will have top off road trucks to race, with all of the kinks worked out from the last races at Speedworld.  After checking race results, I am excited to tell you that although we didn't finish due to off road equipment breakdowns, our race speeds were top notch - right up there with the podium finishers, so can't wait for Las Vegas to put that speed back to work on the track!

We hope you can join us on Nov. 5th and 6th, as we move ever closer to the end of the 2011 race season!  We certainly have our eye on the LOORS Off Road Racing Championship, and a podium finish in the Super Lite class, where I am privileged to be a top contender for Rookie of the Year.

As we mentioned in our last blog, we are actively pursuing race sponsors for the 2012 season, so if you know of a company that wants some great exposure, be sure to e-mail John Kimbrell at johnk@kimbrellelecctric.com. Potential sponsors can check out the information on our website at: http://www.kimbrellracing.com/#!__sponsors

Thanks again for your support of Kimbrell Racing, and as always, if you haven't checked out our website, please do so at www.kimbrellracing.com, and on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kimbrell-Racing/108444685887624 and Twitter at: http://twitter.com/#!/kimbrellracing

Countdown to the November Race

Speedword RaceSpeedworld race
The next race is coming up fast!  November 5th and 6th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one of the finest off road courses in the LOORS 4 x 4 off road racing series.  The Speed Channel will be covering the race.  We are busy making sure the trucks are in great shape and looking forward to moving up in rankings with our eyes set on the off road racing championship in December back in Phoenix.

Currently Austin is in great shape in the Super Lite class, and a top contender for Rookie of the Year in the Super Lite.  Austin continues to battle in the Pro Lite as a first year driver in that tough class, and he is close to the top ten ranking drivers.  Austin is an exceptionally aggressive driver and for his first year out in both the Super Lite and Pro Lite Unlimited classes, he is making remarkable progress.

We just posted some great photos on Facebook of the LOORS race at Speedworld in Surprise, AZ.  Please go check them out at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kimbrell-Racing/108444685887624.   Great pictures of working in the pits on the trucks, our great fans, and of course some racing pics.  Also, new 4 x 4 extreme videos are posted on the Kimbrell Racing website, so check it out at www.kimbrellracing.com/videos

It's 2012 sponsorship time, and we have great marketing opportunities available for our sponsors including branding on our trucks, trailer, and pit, plus direct marketing inclusion on our website, our blog, social media, our text messaging platform, and direct access to race fans from our pits.  For sponsorship information, contact johnk@kimbrellelectric.com.

As always, a big thanks to our sponsors and providers of our off road equipment, off road truck parts, and off road gear, our crew, and fans - you guys make it all possible!  We look forward to you joining us in Las Vegas, and of course our great local fans in Phoenix for the finale - the Championship Cup at Firebird Raceway on December 10-11th.  After such a great fan turnout in September, creating our "sea of red" Kimbrell Racing t-shirts, we know we need you there for sure!

Thanks for the Weekend!

Race prep
The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series cranked back up this past weekend with rounds 11 and 12 at one of the great off road courses, Speedworld Offroad Park in Surprise, AZ.  It also happens to be our home town, so we had a great turn out, and want to give a big shout out to our fans - we turned a BIG portion of the stands RED in support of Kimbrell Racing!

Every race features a little bit of off road madness, but it was a tough weekend with the trucks.  The bright spot is that every time we race it is a team effort!  Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who worked so hard this past weekend, you guys are the best!

Every race we know what a big role our sponsors play in making extreme off road racing all possible, including Toyo Tires who supply our off road truck tires, were out there this weekend, and always supporting us.  If you haven't done so already, be sure to check in on their Team Toyo Tires race site - very cool, and their Facebook page as well.  These guys are awesome and really support racing.  Don't forget Lucas Oil - they make this race series possible, so be sure you check out the site and give them some racing love!  Fiberwerx helps our trucks hang together!  At any race you'll see pieces of trucks come flying off, and these guys are the glue that help keep us in one piece!  Thanks, Fiberwerx!  Check them out! Method Wheels make our trucks lighter, stronger, and faster  - thanks for your sponsorship support! And of course, Kimbrell Electric, our family owned business that provides high quality commercial electrical services to the Phoenix metro area.

So... thank you fans!  Thank you race team! Thank you sponsors!  Thank you family!  We are so grateful for your support, you guys make it happen.

One more thank you to the folks at Homeward Bound - Becky did a great job hanging out talking to fans all weekend for a great cause.  Don't forget that Homeward Bound Homeward Bound's mission is to provide families with a hand up, not a handout. The money raised will help support the organization's many programs working to help and empower families in need. With national television and radio, plus local coverage and large crowds of loyal fans, we hope to generate substantial donations and awareness nationwide.  Homeward Bound is a 501-C3 organization and all funds contributed are tax deductible, received with deep gratitude, and put to work making a difference in the lives of these Phoenix families.   A text message fundraising system has been set up, with 100% of all contributions going directly to Homeward Bound.   Donations can be made by texting the word FAMILY to the number 24453.

Here is the update from the weekend: We had some tough breaks with the trucks on Friday and on Saturday. On Friday all sorts of stuff broke, and after working until 1:30 in the morning to be ready for Sat., we had to pull out of the Super Lite when the truck quit shifting gears, and pull out of the Pro Lite when we dropped a cylinder.   As you know, 4 x 4 racing means that our off road equipment takes a pounding, and when something breaks you work fast and hard. Everyone pitched in to get us back in the race on Sunday, so thank you!  Even the best off road equipment breaks from time to time, and so on Friday worked until 1:30 in the morning, and then on Saturday had to pull out of both the Super Lite and Pro Lite Unlimited races from off road truck parts breaking down.  Sunday we were back in it, but couldn't pull it all together to make it to the podium.

With five rounds left to run, the off road racing championship is right in our sights.  The battles are tough out there,  points are at a premium, and the stakes are high.  We are going to stay focused and start prepping for Las Vegas on Nov. 5th and 6th.  We have the best team, the best fans, the greatest sponsors, and awesome family support, so thank you again to everyone who makes this race team possible.

As always, if you have not done so already, be sure to join us on Facebook, on Twitter, on our website at www.kimbrellracing.com, and for live race updates via text message, text AUSTIN to 24453.  And.... if you want to win great race gear, go to our Facebook page for info on how to enter!

Getting Ready for Next Lucas Oil Off Road Race in Surprise, AZ!

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 by Austin Kimbrell
I love dirt!

Did I mention I love dirt??   Glen Helen was awesome - hope you enjoy this shot!  Extreme off road racing is just more fun than anyone should be allowed to have.  The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Championship series is incredible, and we are honored to compete in it.  The Glen Helen race had it's challenges - we had a flat on both Saturday AND Sunday, and then got rammed in the back side as well, but we stayed in it and kept battling, staying within striking distance of the championship.

The next race is in Surprise, AZ on Sept. 24-25 at Speedworld Off Road Park.  We are getting ready now, and sure hope you can make it out there!  We have some repair work to do on the truck that got hit, but we have a great team to get it done.  Our off road truck tires need to all be ready for action as well, as we need to prevent blowouts when possible.  We are grateful to Toyotires for their sponsorship, and glad their tires are going on our trucks.

As a reminder, if you have not done so already, be sure to check out our completely redesigned website with video uploads, photos, etc. at www.kimbrellracing.com. Also, be sure to text AUSTIN to 24453 to subscribe to live text message updates on race days, and text GEAR to register to win great Kimbrell Race Gear.   And of course, join us on Facebook where we posted pics of the new red color on the trucks and Twitter for more chances to win!

We are working on sponsorships for the 2012 race season, and have great opportunities for our sponsors, including our website, text message marketing, social media, and of course all of the great branding opportunities through television and radio, with signage on our trucks, trailer, and tent set up.  If you are interested in sponsoring Kimbrell Racing for 2012, be sure to contact John Kimbrell at johnk@kimbrellelectric.com and 602-725-0179.  There is also sponsorship info with greater detail regarding major market coverage, which networks, etc.  on the website at http://www.kimbrellracing.com/#!__marketing.

Looking forward to seeing you out at Surprise, AZ Speedworld Off Road Park in September 24-25th, be sure to stop by and say hello!  Thanks again for your support, you are the best!

Super-Lite Championship

Monday, July 25, 2011 by Austin Kimbrell
Winning

The Super-Lite Championship extreme off road racing is more fun than any driver and his truck should be allowed to have!  Because of this organization's commitment to racing, guys like me get to show up and do what we love... drive!

According to their website, "The SuperLite Championship delivers all-inclusive off road racing through its highly-competitive Arrive & Drive race program. Racing every round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) and Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Regional Glen Helen short course race schedule as well as high-profile, stadium-style invitational races that boast motosports legends and action sports superstars, the SuperLite Championship engages major brands that thrive upon comprehensive adrenaline-driven package. "

I like the "adrenaline-driven package" part, and just wanted to say thank you for the racing platform they provide, and their focus on drivers and race fans.  We are still battling for this championship, and are in good position in the top ten.  Looking forward to Glen Helen to keep moving up!  Please check out the Super-Lite Championship website with the section on Kimbrell Racing at:  www.superlitechampionship.com/drivers/austin-kimbrell and of course stop by their Facebook page and tell them thanks for doing what they do, so I can do what I do... :-)

And of course, if you have not already done so, be sure to text AUSTIN to 24453 for live race updates by text message, and check out our new website at www.kimbrellracing.com, and of course come hang out on Facebook  and Twitter!

Thank You, Sponsors!

Kimbrell Racing

As we prepare for the upcoming race at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernadino, CA, it becomes so evident just how important our sponsors are to our success.  So.... a big thank you to our sponsors!

Check out our off road truck tires!  We get traction, speed, safety, and stability as we race because of Toyo Tires.  Thanks!  Race fans, be sure you visit them on Facebook and say thanks, and check out their website at http://www.toyotires.com!

And check out the wheels!  We use Method Wheels because they are lighter, they are stronger, and they are faster!   We are excited that they are a sponsor, but guess what!  We'd use Method Wheels even if they didn't sponsor us because of the technology that goes into the wheel.  Do me a favor, visit them on Facebook and say thanks, and then check out their website at: http://www.methodracewheels.com

Extreme off road sports require high performance engines require high performance oil products.  The pounding our engines take is intense, and Lucas Oil products offer the protection that our engines need.  Thank you Lucas Oil for great products, and for your sponsorship that makes our racing possible.  Fans, tell them thanks on Facebook and check out their website!  http://www.lucasoil.com

We have several other sponsors that make a BIG difference as we keep the off road racing championship in our sites.  Fiberwerx, Kimbrell Electric, and XMF are all key sponsors that contribute to us having the best off road racing vehicles competing in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.  We will focus on these sponsors next time around.

In the meantime, please do remember to be loyal to our sponsors, they make our Pro Lite Unlimited and Super Lite Racing possible.  And of course, if you have not already done so, be sure to text AUSTIN to 24453 for live race updates by text message, and check out our new website at www.kimbrellracing.com, and of course come hang out on Facebook  and Twitter!

If you are at the Glen Helen Race, please come by the trailer and say hello, pick up our new poster and hero card, and let's hang out!  If you can't make the race, we will get some great pics up afterwards.  Thanks again for being such great fans, your support and encouragement is why we do what we do... besides the fact that we love racing in the dirt!

Stay tuned!

What About the Engine?

Wednesday, July 13, 2011 by Austin Kimbrell
Kimbrell #88

We are tuning up the trucks getting ready for Glen Helen, so what about the engine?  It takes guts AND horsepower to get out in front in 4 x 4 racing.  Our racing engine is built by Kroyer Racing Engines.  Top off road trucks have to muscle through the mud to get it done, and our Kroyer engine definitely gets it done.  They have been building championship racing engines for over a decade, and have over thirty titles to prove it.  I, for one, am glad we are using their horsepower to power our off road equipment as we battle it out in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.

Be sure to text AUSTIN to 24453 for live race updates, and come hang out with Kimbrell Racing on Twitter and Facebook.   Thanks for your awesome support!

"Austin Kimbrell explodes into the SuperLite Championship as the young gun from of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series ranks, rifling through the pack from behind the wheel of the Kimbrell Racing machine amid the top 10 in the 2011 SuperLite points chase.", states the Super Lite Champion website.      Check out the feature story on Austin at: http://www.superlitechampionship.com/drivers/austin-kimbrell

In the Super Lite Austin holds a solid sixth place in the top ten for points in the race to the championship. Austin finished 6th overall last weekend in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series in Utah for the Super Lite class, and 12th in the Pro Lite Unlimited class, and is shaking off the dirt to focus on the next race and moving up in overall points.
